- Use magazines or comics from newspapers and/or reuse last years wrapping paper.
- Use an artificial tree instead of buying one every year.
- Send eCards instead of mailing out cards.
- Cut up old Christmas cards to make tags or decorations.
- Shop at a thrift store, Goodwill, Dollar Tree, Dollar General and/or buy items on sale.
- Draw names at Christmas and do an exchange.
- Have a Christmas Potluck dinner...have everyone bring a dish.
- Stock up on Christmas items AFTER Christmas when everything goes on sale.
- Make your own gifts: bake, knit, sew, make jewelry, etc.
- Give free coupons made at home, such as: Will babysit 3 weekends, will clean house, paint a room, etc., you get the idea.
- Buy gift cards, even if it's just $5 or $10.
- And the most important tip of all, set a budget and stick to it!
